Bicycle Safety
Learning bicycle safety can begin at home the first time
you put your child on a bicycle. Teach them:
* the importance of wearing a helmet whenever they go
bicycling
* the basic skills of riding a straight line, weaving
around objects, and looking back over their shoulders
to see if cars are approaching
* how to communicate with others, and what the road signs
mean
Remember that your children are going to watch how you
bicycle, and copy your actions. If you wear a helmet,
they're more likely to do so. If you ride safely and in
a predictable way, they're going to learn good skills.
Below you'll find excellent brochures
that covers eight basic safety topics you should cover
with your child.

Kids Physical Activity
It's no secret that we need to get our kids more active. Obesity rates are skyrocketing, especially in children between the ages of 6 and 15. More physical activity doesn't mean you need to purchase expensive family memberships at the health club. This brochure presents ideas for getting kids walking and bicycling...and doing it safely.
